USPS “Moving through network”: what it means
“Moving through network” means the package is in the USPS system and moving, but it hasn't had a scan at a specific building lately.
Why USPS shows it
It's a placeholder. When a package goes a day or more without a scan, USPS fills the gap with this line so tracking doesn't look frozen. It often appears on Ground Advantage packages crossing the country and on international packages after they arrive in the US.
How long is normal
One to three days. Several “Moving through network” lines in a row usually mean a long trip between regional centers, not a lost package.
When to do something
- No real scan for about a week: contact the seller first, since they shipped it.
- Well past its expected date: ask USPS for a Missing Mail search on usps.com.
